Photographer & visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia

Deb Garrett's training began with a degree in Visual Communication at RMIT, Melbourne in 1996, followed by a Diploma of Arts (Ceramics), Melbourne in 2003.

Deb considers herself a visual artist working across various mediums with a strong focus on photography, painting and ceramics.  Deb was introduced to analogue photography by her father and grandfather, which shaped her earlier years . A chance opportunity to work as an assistant to a ceramicist immediately gave her a feel for the art form. Years later, a nagging interest in painting materialized. In recent years the Covid lockdowns have offered her time and reflection to revisit each of these passions, and to explore them in the natural world.

In 2021 Deb received a commendation from Capture Magazine - Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers (Landscape Category) and was a finalist for the 'A Year of Wonders' Photographic and Projection event, Warrandyte.
